In order to explore the energy conservation and environmental protection market in countries along the Belt and Road, State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) Chairman Xiao Yaqing and Vice Chairwoman Huang Danhua led a delegation to the Republic of Belarus from July 31 to August 4, 2017. The members include other SASAC officials and central SOE executives including CECEP Chairman Liu Dashan.
The delegation met with Nikolai Snopkov, deputy head of the Belarus President Administration, and Chinese Ambassador to Belarus Cui Qiming, and visited the China-Belarus Industrial Park and a Belaz factory.

In their meeting Mr. Xiao told Mr. Snopkov that CECEP was under negotiation with Belarus on cooperation in the peat sector. He called this cooperation “very meaningful,” as it will combine Belarus’ innovations with demands on the Chinese market and lead to innovative products and creation of a new industry that are tech-intensive and will fuel economic growth.
In order to have a better understanding of the energy conservation and environmental protection market in Belarus and boost CECEP’s presence in the country, Chairman Liu paid a visit to Yaroshenko, head of the China-Belarus Industrial Park Management Committee, a research institute of natural resources, and other institutions. He exchanged ideas with his hosts on cooperating over waste incineration, reuse of peat, and sewage treatment among other issues. His Belarus hosts showed strong interest in and desire for cooperation with CECEP. The visit was successful.
