The first ESG Global Leaders Summit took place on August 26, and Song Xin, Chairman of CECEP, attended the meeting and delivered a keynote speech.
Song remarked that ESG is a development concept that pursues the maximization of economic, environmental and social values and can effectively guide major participants in the capital market to create economic values while paying attention to social and environmental issues such as scientific and technological innovation, carbon neutrality and rural revitalization to promote sustainable economic and social development. In the context of the “dual carbon” strategy, ESG development has become a global consensus. While seeking the maximization of economic benefits, enterprises increasingly need to consider environmental, social and corporate governance factors so as to contribute to the building of a more prosperous, green and inclusive world.
Themed “Focusing on ESG Development for a Low-carbon Sustainable Future,” the summit gathered more than 60 guests from political, business and academic circles who conducted discussions on 10 topics such as ESG investment, sustainable development, and low-carbon transformation.
