The widely-anticipated 2021 Taiyuan Energy Low Carbon Development Forum kicked off in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, on September 3. Chinese Premier Li Keqiang attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech via video. Liu Dajun, deputy CEO of CECEP, was invited to attend the opening ceremony.
The next day, September 4, the Hydrogen Energy Industry Development Forum & 11th Global Top 500 New Energy Companies Summit was held in Taiyuan. CECEP Wind-Power Corporation was listed among the Global Top 500 New Energy Companies, ranking 358th, up nine places from 2020.
According to the rankings, wind power, solar power, and a few other new energy industries have seen significant growth worldwide, showing remarkable performance. China tops the list in the number of new energy companies, totaling 214. Among the 2021 “Top 500” new energy companies, wind farms generated a combined revenue of 716.1 billion yuan so far this year, up 309.8 billion yuan from 406.3 billion yuan in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 76.25 percent, and the revenue share grew from 9.62 percent in 2020 to 16.25 percent. Wind energy ranks third in industry, only after energy storage and diversified industries. According to Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) data, 2020 was the best year in history for the global wind industry with 93 GW of new capacity installed – a 53 per cent year-on-year increase.
